Pete Martay

Pete Martay joined Pangea in 2009 as the company’s fifth employee and currently serves as CEO and Chief Investment Officer. Prior to joining Pangea, Pete served as Vice President at Bernstein Global Wealth Management from 2005 to 2009. He also worked as an associate for Chicago-based private equity firm, Glencoe Capital from 2002 to 2004. Pete started his career in investment banking at Deutsche Bank, as part of the Leveraged Finance Group. He received his B.B.A. from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business. In his free time, Pete enjoys fly fishing, hiking, skiing, and spending time with his wife and kids.

Scott Larson

Scott Larson joined Pangea Properties in 2011 and currently serves as Vice President and Head of Pangea Mortgage Capital. Prior to joining Pangea, Scott was a Private Equity Associate for American Capital, a global private equity fund with $23 billion in assets. Scott started his career in investment banking at Deutsche Bank, as part of the Industrials group. He received his B.S. in Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and his M.B.A. from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. In his free time, Scott enjoys golfing, skiing, and watching rugby.

Michael Bachenheimer

Michael Bachenheimer has joined Pangea with over 20 years of real estate experience in the Western United States. Throughout his career, he has completed over $2.0 billion of structured debt transactions. Mr. Bachenheimer brings a diverse background of experiences to Pangea having work in multiple capacities in the real estate industry as a lender, real estate consultant, appraiser and asset manager. Mr. Bachenheimer graduated from Michigan State University. In his free time, Mr. Bachenheimer enjoys running marathons, skiing and spending time with his wife and two kids.

Legal Counsel

Krusha Evans

Krusha joined Pangea in 2011 and serves as Legal Counsel to Pangea Mortgage Capital as well as Counsel to Pangea’s core business. Prior to joining Pangea, Krusha worked as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the City of Chicago’s Building and License Enforcement Division. She received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her J.D. from The UIC John Marshall Law School. For fun, Krusha likes traveling, listening to live music, and taking long walks (with her husband and dog).

Jeremy Castiglione

Jeremy joined Pangea in 2014 and currently serves as an Asset Management Associate and Accountant within Pangea Mortgage Capital. He previously served as a Financial Accountant for Pangea’s core real estate business. Jeremy started his career with Pangea after receiving his B.S. in Accountancy from DePaul University. Jeremy grew up in Chicago’s northwest suburbs and enjoys exercising and reading.

Jack Laughlin

Jack has been with Pangea since 2016 and currently serves as an Investment Associate within Pangea Mortgage Capital. Prior to joining PMC, he worked on Pangea Properties’ Asset Management team, focusing on Revenue Management, business intelligence, and strategic oversight for Chicago’s west side and the Indianapolis market. Jack graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2016 with a B.A. in Economics. Born and raised in Chicago’s northwest suburbs, Jack enjoys traveling, reading, and college football.
